Hello again.

So, hello. Remember me? The dude who used to write a blog twice a week (more or less)? Well, good news; he’s still here. Welcome back to you. Welcome back to Monday. Let’s have a bit of a catch-up.

It's been a while since I’ve done this, eh? It certainly feels like it to me. Just opening up Microsoft Word (not a sponsor) and seeing when the last time I properly used it was. Needless to say, it was a while ago.

I’ve still been writing, just nothing long form. Since disappearing indefinitely (more on that later), I opted to write more casually and experience life a bit more. I try to write a semblance of a poem every day. Some days are better than others.

You may notice in the introduction that I said I am “still here” instead of “back”. That’s something I have been struggling with when I have been thinking about this day for a while now. Do I have commitment issues? Maybe. I don’t know. Writing this blog in my heyday was one of the great joys in my daily life. Getting compliments for it was also lovely, and I thank you again personally if you have ever complimented me or given feedback (constructive or otherwise) on the blog.

Fully committing back to this blog every week is scary. I both know and don’t know why. Life goes on, and life throws a lot of shite in your way. Since the blog went on hiatus, I've experienced both highs and lows. I think that’s called being human.

Like I said, working on the blog reminds me of my heyday. It reminds me of a time right after that bad stretch of years we all had a couple of years ago, when I was living the good life with cash in my pocket and endless possibilities of what I could make of myself coming out of that difficult time. Then, life, as mentioned earlier, happened, and reality began to set in. It was scary.

Life doesn’t just go on; it's also tough. Did you know that? I am still working in the same job I have been working since my last post. I am currently on annual leave. I'm burnt out at work. As I mentioned in my previous post, finding that balance between creative work and my day job was challenging back then. It still is. At least for the next while, I will only have this blog to worry about.

It's been 6 months and 8 days since my last blog post. It's now back for the meantime. It felt good sitting down on a Monday morning and writing this again. My laptop still sucks, by the way. I hope to keep this ball rolling. Ya Boi has got stories from my time away. I am sure I will share them in due course. Until then, I hope to see you on Friday for some fiction. Thank you for reading. Thank you for being so patient. Thank you, as ever, for your time.
